FIRST BLOG POST - RELEASE THE ULISSE
Ok....trying this again, and this time its going to stick. Writing from the small town of Tournus in Burgundy, its five days and counting till staging rehearsals begin in London for Monteverdi's "Il Ritorno d'Ulisse" for the Barbican and Academy of Ancient Music. Richard Egar is conducting, Liz Watts and Ian Bostridge are singing along with a fantastic group of artists, its my favorite opera, time to work. Its a concert staging, and all the props and costumes are sourced, and now to put the final touches on my blocking, it will be Ulisse all the time all day all week. What could be better?
